We were privileged to meet Elaine through Todd and Lynn. She was always kind to our family...our kids even went to her house to play with Jessica and Kyle, and she was a grandma to our kids, too. We will always be grateful for her cheerful, sweet, spunky personality which she so generously shared with us. Love, The Thomsons Alicia, Rob, Sarah and Joshua

Elaine was an extraordinary woman. She was vivacious with a passion for her kids and family. Her smile will be what I remember about her most. I can still hear her laugh. What a gift she was. I am so sorry for your loss. She leaves a legacy of faithfulness to family and love for life behind but it is clear to me that she has passed it on well to her kids and grandkids. I am praying for your family as you grieve.

Elaine had a personality that could light up a room and a smile that was infectious. Her love and care towards the girls in my daughter's Girl Scout troop was so obvious - they were so lucky to have her as their leader. Beyond that, Elaine was enjoyable to be around. A lively, sparkling personality that welcomed me in whenever I saw her. It was a privilege to have known her. My condolences to all of her family.

Elaine was a special lady to me that she was like a mom to me. I was very good friends with her daughter Tanya in grade school. Tanya mom taught me to have fun just the way you are and not to change. She was a good brownie leader to me also. You will be missed.

It is hard to express in words the feelings about hearing the news of her passing. A flood of memories came rushing in. How she saw the friendship Todd and I were building 20 years ago to the acceptance of me and my family as almost one of her own throughout the years. The stories, the history, the laughs, the tears, the jokes, the advice, and THE LOVE she shared will be missed and never forgotten. The adage of “the world is a little less brighter without her” is not overstated in her passing. Love to all that knew her and miss her as you are not alone.

Dear Owlett family, Our deepest and heartfelt condolences for the loss of your dear mother. We’ve had the privilege to know your mother ever since the kids were little. She was good company as we sat and talked while at birthday parties, cookie exchanges, volleyball games, & every milestone event that brought us together. Elaine was always gracious, kind & had the sweetest smile. Our hearts break at the thought of your loss, but rejoice knowing that this isn’t the end. We’ll see her again one day. Until then, may you all feel & know peace & comfort.

I will miss my soul sister. She’s been a very supportative part of my life. I will miss her flirtation smile and how she was always there for whoever needed her. Rest In Peace.

I still fondly recall the birthday party Elaine’s mother hosted for a gaggle of us Rush-Henrietta fourth-grade girls, when she took us to what was my first theater experience: a showing of Disney’s Bambi. Back in the West Henrietta first grade, I remember Elaine helping me fix my woefully granny-knotted shoelaces: Mrs. Reeves asked Elaine to tie them correctly, and she carefully un-picked the pile of knots and tied my shoelaces in neat bows, something I didn’t learn to do for another year or two. We were classmates again in second and third grade, the magical year we moved to the New School (now the Roth building). I remember the music class when we sang “Oh, how lovely to dance the Jarabe.” Elaine was one of the four students chosen to demonstrate the Mexican dance (I think the music teacher was being observed by administrators that day). And from fourth through seventh grade she and I were daily passengers on Gordon Miller’s Bus #17. Jumping ahead to senior year, who can forget her performance as the lead in My Sister Eileen? After graduation, it was the summer of 1965 when she and I ran into each other on a street in downtown Rochester. As I recall she was working at RG&E and I was doing temp work at an architect’s office. Fast forward nearly fifty years: we re-connected at reunion committee meetings in 2011, and the rest is history. --Kris Burritt Finley

I am so sorry to hear that Elaine passed away. She really was a delight to be around. I was really sorry we didn't get to know her a whole lot sooner. My condolences to the family. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
