Dick was born in Rochester and grew up in Gates. He was a member of the Gates Fire Dept. for 3 years then moved to Brockport where he was a lifetime member of the Brockport Harrison Fire Dept. Dick was a charter member of the Brockport Ambulance Corps and Brockport Exempts. He was a retiree of NYS in 1997 and a member of the Retired Public Employee Association. He loved woodworking and spent many hours in his basement making beautiful items. He also was a history buff, read a lot about WWII and had a great collection of historical items.
Richard and Shirley had their home built at College Greene in 1995 and had just celebrated 25 years in their home. Dick enjoyed their home and taking care of their yard. They have many great neighbors. In the last few years, due to many health problems, he spent less time doing his yard work. He enjoyed travelling with his dear friends, David and Barb Kelly.
A celebration of Dick's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Honor Flight Rochester, Inc., PO Box 23581, Rochester, NY 14692.
